Easter Pictures

We had a wonderful Easter celebration this year. In addition to the Easter celebration at church it was also baby dedication. Brenna was a sweet little girl through the whole ceremony. She slept the whole time. She was a big hit with the congregation because she was so tiny. The girls wore matching dresses, and (in my humble and non-biased opion LOL) they looked precious! Ella really enjoyed showing off her baby sister in their matching outfits.

Brenna is a month old

The first month has gone exceedingly well. Ella has been an angel! She adores her little sister, and for the most part is very good with her. We've had a few hairy moments--trying to hide Brenna under a pillow, falling onto Brenna's head in the midst of a fit to name a couple. However for the most part, Ella has been a very loving and caring big sister. I really couldn't ask for much better bahavior on her part.

Brenna is growing like a weed. She weighs around 8 lbs now. She is staying awake more and more, and she is also starting to give us a lot more eye contact. I think that social smiles are just days away. Right now we get a lot of reflexive smiles, and they are VERY cute. Brenna has started taking a bottle a few nights a week. It's nice to have a small break, and it's nice to know that we can leave her with a sitter when we have the need or desire. The best news of all is that she is sleeping great! At 3 weeks and 2 days of age she started sleeping for 5 hours a night consistently. We've only had 1 night of relapsing to her 3 hour schedule, and we've even had one night of 6 hours. I'm really looking forward to sleeping completely through the night, but at least we are only getting up once.

Making Cookies with Granny

While my mom was here to help out when Brenna was born, she and Ella made cookies together. Ella had a blast using the rolling pin and the cookie cutters. We also decorated the cookies with sprinkles. Granny was very patient with Ella. As the mom, I wanted them to be perfect. Granny just wanted Ella to have fun.
